Pramesh Nandi is a renowned vocalist of the Mewati Gharana, the esteemed lineage of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj ji. Born and raised in Gujarat, India, Pramesh grew up surrounded by music, nurtured by a family steeped in musical tradition. Early on, he was influenced by various teachers and performers before beginning formal training in Indian classical music under Pandit Shri Niraj Parikh. He later advanced his studies under the rigorous guidance of Pandit Hemang Mehta, a senior disciple of Pandit Jasraj ji, with whom he continues to uphold the traditional Guru-Shishya Parampara.

In addition to his classical career, Pramesh has worked extensively in the Gujarati entertainment industry as a singer, actor, music director, and composer for television. He has also organized and performed at numerous musical events across the globe.

His contributions have been recognized with several prestigious accolades, including the “Jewel of the Community” award from the Indian Consulate General of Canada in 2011 (presented by the Mehfil Group), “Gem of the Community” by the Brahmin Samaj of Ontario in 2013, and “Most Favourite Singer of Canada” in 2023, presented by Shri Kailash Kher. Widely celebrated in the diaspora, he is affectionately known as the “Garba King” of North America.

Pramesh is also the founder and Executive Director of Swargunjan Music Academy, a not-for-profit, arts-based organization dedicated to nurturing local talent and promoting Indian classical music. Since its inception, the academy has trained numerous students, continuing his mission to preserve and share the rich traditions of Indian music.
