Nritya Kala Mandir (NKM ARTS), meaning “Temple of Dance,” is a Bharatanatyam dance school founded by Mrs. Kanan Bhatt in 1987 in Amdavad, India, and later established in Toronto, Canada, in 2001. With over 24 years of service in Ontario, NKM is dedicated to preserving cultural heritage through Indian classical, folk, and Bollywood dance.
With training centres in Scarborough and Brampton, NKM has taught over 600 students in Bharatanatyam and other traditional styles. The curriculum blends practical performance skills with theoretical knowledge of dance, music, and cultural history—preparing students for careers as performers, instructors, and choreographers.
NKM fosters an inclusive, supportive environment for all ages and skill levels, offering programs in dance and visual arts. The organization promotes diverse art forms, encourages community engagement, and hosts workshops, seminars, and festivals to showcase talent and inspire the next generation of artists.
Our Mission
To promote diverse art forms, support artists, and engage the community through events, education, and creative exploration.
