Ensemble Topaz is a Toronto-based music and dance ensemble dedicated to performance traditions from South Asia and Central Asia. Their performances range from Classical Indian dance to traditional Indian folk dances to Bollywood to several global dance and music forms from around the world. Co-Artistic director Paromita Kar holds a PhD in Dance Studies and is trained in classical Indian Odissi dance and currently also holds an Ontario Arts Council grant for professional development in Iranian dance and dances of the Silk Route.
